Moving from QuickChart

Moving from QuickChart.

QuickChart puts a Chart.js config in the URL. RenderChart takes the same config as cfg, or plain parameters for everyday charts, which are shorter and easier to read. Paste a config to see both.

Convert a chart.

Converted. Change anything here and the chart follows.

The converted chart

https://c.renderchart.com/?key=rc_pub_live_7Hq2mX9pLk4vN8sT1wEa&type=bar&x=Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4&y1=10,20,30,40&n1=Online&y2=5,15,25,35&n2=Retail

The same chart as cfg, if you'd rather keep the config:

https://c.renderchart.com/?key=rc_pub_live_7Hq2mX9pLk4vN8sT1wEa&cfg=eyJ0eXBlIjoiYmFyIiwiZGF0YSI6eyJsYWJlbHMiOlsiUTEiLCJRMiIsIlEzIiwiUTQiXSwiZGF0YXNldHMiOlt7ImxhYmVsIjoiT25saW5lIiwiZGF0YSI6WzEwLDIwLDMwLDQwXX0seyJsYWJlbCI6IlJldGFpbCIsImRhdGEiOls1LDE1LDI1LDM1XX1dfX0

How the parameters map.

QuickChartRenderChartNotes
ccfg, or plain parameterscfg is the config as base64url JSON. Functions are not allowed, so callbacks and custom formatters need a rethink.
width, heightw, hCSS pixels, 50 to 2000.
devicePixelRatiodpr1 to 3, default 2.
backgroundColorbgHex without #, or transparent.
formatformatpng, or pdf on Pro.
(none)keyEvery URL carries your public key, or use a short URL to hide it.

What's different here.

You pay for renders

Only the first request for a chart counts. Every view after it comes from cache and is free.

Your key is in the URL

Use a short URL on Starter and above to hide the key and the data behind /s/.

Charts don't break

On a paid plan, going over your renders never stops a chart. We email you instead.
