DocsChart URLs
Examples
Every chart is a URL, so a chart goes wherever an image goes. These examples use the templates from the app's chart builder. Replace KEY with your public key, or open the builder, pick the template and copy a URL that already has your key in it. See the URL spec for every parameter.
Unsigned URLs carry a small watermark. On Starter and above, sign the URL (Signing) or save it as a short URL (Short URLs) for a clean image.
Email reports
Email clients show images but never run scripts, so a chart URL in an <img> tag is the simplest way to put a live chart in a report. Give the image its width and height so the layout holds while it loads.
<img src="https://c.renderchart.com/?key=KEY&type=bar&x=Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri,Sat,Sun&y=4200,3900,5100,4800,6200,7400,5300&title=Revenue%20this%20week%20%28%24%29&values=1&h=320" alt="Revenue this week" width="600" height="320">
Some email tools shorten or rewrite long links. If a URL is over about 2,000 characters, save it as a short URL instead.
Google Sheets
=IMAGE() shows a chart in a cell:
=IMAGE("https://c.renderchart.com/?key=KEY&type=line&x=Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr,May,Jun&y=1180,1320,1290,1510,1640,1820&title=Monthly%20active%20users&smooth=1&w=400&h=200")
To draw the chart from the sheet itself, build the URL from cell ranges. With labels in A2:A7 and values in B2:B7:
=IMAGE("https://c.renderchart.com/?key=KEY&type=line&smooth=1&w=400&h=200&x="&ENCODEURL(TEXTJOIN(",",TRUE,A2:A7))&"&y="&TEXTJOIN(",",TRUE,B2:B7))
Each new set of values is a new chart and counts as one render the first time it is drawn. Signed URLs cannot be built this way, because the signature covers the data.
Slack
Post a chart with Block Kit, from chat.postMessage or an incoming webhook:
{
"blocks": [
{
"type": "image",
"image_url": "https://c.renderchart.com/?key=KEY&type=hbar&x=API,Web,Workers,Queue&y1=982,1204,640,310&y2=12,3,27,4&n1=Succeeded&n2=Failed&stacked=1&title=Jobs%20in%20the%20last%20hour&h=300",
"alt_text": "Jobs in the last hour"
}
]
}
Notion
Type /image, choose "Embed link" and paste the chart URL. A short URL on Pro keeps the same address while you update the data behind it, so the page always shows the latest chart.
READMEs and Markdown

GitHub fetches images through its own proxy and caches them. A chart that changes should use a short URL on Pro, or a new URL each time.
AI agents
Agents can write chart URLs directly from the URL spec: the parameters are plain text, and the image renders wherever the agent's reply is shown. On paid plans the MCP server lets an agent create signed and short URLs for you.
